Oooh, that’s a bingo!
What’s that American expression? “If the shoe fits, you must wear it”
Every time I hope he’ll just say something like “let’s have some very good sex” #gpoy

I know that a joke that needs to be explained probably just isn’t funny enough, but in case you were wondering how I came up with this brainfart, it’s because I randomly stumbled over this, this and then this post in the timespan of a couple of days.
I also really, really love all the people in this
barscene.

#things i do not understand: WHY DID PEOPLE SHIP THIS? #i never see graphics of her and marcel #AND YET THERE ARE LIKE SO MANY GRAPHICS OF HER AND THIS DUDE WHEN HE WAS BASICALLY A POSTER BOY FOR Nice Guys™
Because he’s hawt :\
This is one of the cases where I hope I didn’t hear any commentary from the author (see also: Matt Weiner on Betty Draper), since Tarantino himself kind of ships it and said that in another place and in another time they could have been together. But I actually loved how this played out in the film - Zoller had some redeeming qualities like being repulsed by war deep down and some artistic sensibilities, but the narrative didn’t gloss over how pushy and ultimately self centered he was. I think we’re actually supposed to side with Shosanna and her defensive attitude because this is *her* story, and ultimately Zoller turns into her final villain. On the other hand I can also understand why people seem to overlook Marcel - even if he has a bigger place in Shosanna’s life he hasn’t such a big place in the *film* (do we even know whether he’s alive or dead at the end?), their romance is already established and the story doesn’t dwell upon it as much as it does with the un-relationship with Zoller, so I’m not surprised.
